Carolyn Sills

Western Swing / Roots Rock/Honky Tonk … and more!

Carolyn Sills

Hailing from Santa Cruz, Ca, Carolyn Sills is a classic American roots musician for the modern world, nodding to her old-school favorites one minute and exploring new ground the next. She's toured the US with both her duo Poi Rogers and her ace Combo, playing stages like the 2024 Monterey Jazz Festival, and the 2025 Strawberry Music and Live Oak Festivals. She has released six albums, one doughnut and countless videos to date, all brimming with twangy guitar and non-pedal steel, thanks to her longtime guitarist and songwriting partner, Gerard Egan.

Carolyn was nominated alongside Sierra Ferrell, Brennen Leigh and Melissa Carper for the 2023 Western Swing Female Ameripolitan Award and won both the 2018 and 2024 Ameripolitan for Western Swing Group with her Combo. In 2019, she was inducted alongside Gerard Egan into the Sacramento Western Swing Hall of Fame.

Her witty lyrics on unexpected subject matters has gained her a loyal following, plus publication in the ‘Lyrics as Poetry’ book series and free Dixon Ticonderoga pencils. Her 2019 collaboration with Grammy Award Winning engineer Sylvia Massy (Johnny Cash, Rick Rubin) on her original, Marty Robbins based concept album, ‘Return to El Paso,’ earned her a whole new fan base and the title of "Western Swing Female of the Year" from the Academy of Western Artists.

"Sills' voice sounds effortlessly - and wondrously - like Kitty Wells or Patsy Cline winging over the airwaves from a vintage Grand Ole Opry show.”

Vintage Guitar Magazine

"Powerhouse Carolyn Sills is the real deal of throwback country music. She has enough soul, heart, style and swag to convince audiences and listeners that they may have been transported to an era where country swing rules the waves, juke joints were the place to be, and heartache had a kick like a mule... all the lonesome wails, tongue-in-cheek humor, and late night reflection you'd expect from a classic country gem."

Poi Rogers

Hawaiian and Western Swing Duo

Poi Rogers Duo

Somewhere in-between the tropical lounges of 1930s Los Angeles and the honky tonk beer joints of rural 1950s California, you'll find Poi Rogers. Hailing from Santa Cruz, CA, the duo performs original and vintage country & western swing, Hawaiian steel guitar ballads and cowboy tunes.

Gerard Egan and Carolyn Sills are both inductees into the Sacramento Western Swing Hall of Fame. Carolyn was named the Academy of Western Artists’ 2021 Western Swing Female Vocalist of the Year, and was nominated for a 2023 Ameripolitan Award for the same. They front the award winning five piece band, Carolyn Sills, which has released four albums and one doughnut to date.

Poi Rogers features Gerard doubling on acoustic guitar and his 1954 Fender triple neck steel guitar with Carolyn on standup bass, their timeless harmonies anchoring the show.
