"Lara can belt out a song, purr
through a ballad, knock you out with her sensuality and make you
want to get up and dance. When she and Chavez link up … their ferocity
and drive are joys to hear."

Richard Kamins, Hartford
Courant
"The proof is in the performance.
Price's vocal instrument is as strong as it is sensual, confident
in covering the breadth of material in her songbook."

Jeff Kaliss, San Francisco
Chronicle
"I first saw this band in Memphis
at the IBC. They rocked the house that BB built. On two different
nights. Lara and Laura pair up to make for one great band. Check
them out, you will love them."

Powerhouse singer Lara Price fronts
the Lara Price Band, a blistering 5-piece blues ensemble. Known
for her sultry stage presence and her smoky, sexy, powerful voice,
Lara's band is top-notch as well. Critically acclaimed guitarist
Laura Chavez is a stunning, remarkable player. Drummer Fred Raughtman
and bassist Jack Cannon keep a solid bottom, while keyboardist Gary
Goldsworthy rounds out the band.
Formed in 1998, The Lara Price Band quickly built an international
reputation, earning loyal fans worldwide. Lara and her band have
shared the bill with headliners Etta James, Little Richard, James
Brown, Bobby Blue Bland, Leon Russell and many more. Lara also lent
her talent to sing back-up with Triple Seven at the Fillmore in
San Francisco, opening up for the pop band Smashmouth. The journey
of The Lara Price Band includes 4 great CDs, a tour across the U.S.A.
and China, and many performances at world-renowned festivals such
as the Monterey Blues Festival, San Jose Jazz Festival and The Greater
Ozarks Blues Festival.
In addition to the Lara Price band, Lara fronts and leads several
other musical projects including Lara and Laura Unplugged, an acoustic
duo; and Velvet
Plum, a popular bay area cover band that includes talent from
San Jose's finest musicians.

"I saw you at the Torch Club in S.F. a few months back, and you
put on the best show that I'd ever seen in a club. Smokin' with
every good song (meaning virtually ALL of them), included. When
I left at the end of the night, I couldn't honestly think of one
single song that I hadn't loved. I've never come out of a show feeling
transformed before. It was definitely a once-in-a-lifetime feeling!
I hope I get the opportunity to see you again. Thank you for this
experience."

Kerry Ramsey
"Laura Chavez [is] a guitarist
I would bet will one day be hugely famous. She plays the blues with
such age defying tact, knowledge and finesse it's almost scary.
You look at her and you can't believe these glorious sounds are
coming from her fingers … they [Lara and Laura] sound, amazingly,
like Janis Joplin backed by Albert Collins."
