This lively,
upbeat, yet unobtrusive and mellow trio features the multi-faceted
Michael Culver on the warm, bell-like tones of the vibraphone, in
smooth combination with veteran players Jim Gonzales on guitar and
bassist Stan Poplin. Together they play a fun, sophisticated blend
of solid, straight ahead Jazz standards and light pop favorites,
including standards from the Broadway stage (Rogers & Hart, Cole
Porter, George Gershwin) and songs by the great Jazz artists (Duke
Ellington, Count Basie, Louis Armstrong, Miles Davis, Benny Goodman,
Johnny Mercer).
The string instruments furnish a warm texture for featuring the
vibraphone, providing the perfect ambiance for private parties,
weddings, and corporate events. Let these exceptional artists bring
America's only original art form to your celebration. Also available
as a duo (just vibes and guitar.)
Michael is also a fine pianist, and, for a change of pace, can substitute
piano for vibes for a few numbers or for the entire evening, if
you prefer.
