Vocalist/percussionist Lee Durley
and keyboardist Joe Indence are two of the most prominent and respected
musicians in the Monterey musical community.
Lee Durley, who has had multiple appearances at the world famous
Monterey Jazz Festival, has been pleasing fans for decades with
his rich vocal stylings and musicianship. His vocal texture has
been compared to Lou Rawls, Nat King Cole, and Joe Williams. Durley
has performed at clubs, festivals, and special events all over the
West Coast, Las Vegas and Lake Tahoe, as well as several successful
European tours including featured performances at the Marciac and
Avignon Jazz Festivals in France. Lee is also a long-time member
on the Board of Directors of the Monterey Bay Blues Festival.
Joe is a talented pianist, arranger, conductor and accompanist,
performing and recording Classical, Popular and Jazz music. For
many years he has been Pianist in Residence at the beautiful Highlands
Inn in Carmel.
Lee & Joe worked together for years at the Lodge at Pebble Beach,
and currently play weekends together at the Highlands Inn in Carmel.
In 2006, Lee & Joe released "Monterey Easy", a delightful CD that
features some very tasteful easy listening favorites.
Musically, they are drawn to the timeless songs that have lasted
throughout the years. From the classic swing of the 30's and on
through the decades to the Adult Contemporary music of today, Lee
Durley & Joe Indence play the music that you remember and love to
dance to. From timeless love ballads to swing, Latin, waltzes, and
light rock, Lee & Joe present a diversity of musical moods with
style, taste and courteous professionalism.
Lee & Joe accompany themselves with sequenced bass and drum tracking.
This, combined with the many sounds Joe can coax from a synthesizer
(such as strings and horns) gives this dynamic twosome the rounded,
full-bodied sound you'd expect to hear from a full band! If desired,
they can also add a saxophonist for a trio.
This spirited duo will lend class and panache to any special event.
