Roger Eddy is one of the Monterey Bay area's most talented and professional
musicians. This highly respected saxophonist/flautist has been playing
for almost three decades.
Roger Eddy was voted the Central Coast's Best Jazz/Blues performer
four years in a row in the Monterey County Weekly's readers' poll.
He has appeared at the Monterey Jazz Festival numerous times. In
2009, Roger also appeared at both the Monterey Bay Blues Festival
in "For the Love of Ray: An All-Star Tribute to Ray Charles" and
the Monterey Jazz Festival's 50 year anniversary concert with The
Monterey All-Stars.
Roger has performed with Huey Lewis, Glenn Frey, Vince Gill, Lou
Rawls, The Gatlin Brothers Band, Frankie Valli, The Robben Ford
Blues Band, and many more. He has also opened for such renowned
acts as Spyro-Gyra, Tom Scott, Toto, Larry Carlton, and The Pointer
Sisters, to name but a few.
Tim Volpicella attended the prestigious Berklee School of Music
in Boston, where he met and was influenced by such greats as Pat
Metheny, Steve Swallow, and Gary Burton. He studied music at De
Anza College and performed in the jazz band there. He also received
the Outstanding Achievement Award for teaching Jazz Studies classes
at Sierra Nevada College.
Tim Volpicella is a co-founder of Open Path Music Recording Studios,
and has recorded and produced many acoustic and electric projects
including scoring the movie "Fat Rose and Squeaky" starring Cicely
Tyson and Louise Fletcher, and writing and performing music for
American poet Paul Zarzyski.
Tim's many notable gigs include a five-year stint with the John
Carlton Orchestra at Harrah's Headliner Room in Reno, Nevada, where
Sammy Davis Jr. pulled him aside to say "Man, you play great guitar!"
Tim has also performed for the San Francisco Jazz Festival, San
Jose Jazz Festival, Monterey Jazz Festival and the Lennie Tristano
Jazz Festival (Naples, Italy).
Teaming up as a duo for weddings and receptions, Roger plays both
flute and sax, accompanied by Tim on guitar. This delightful twosome,
known as Duo Serenade, offer a crowd-pleasing repertoire which includes
standards, Jazz, swing, Bossa Nova, Latin, classical, and contemporary
