Taelen Thomas's performance as John
Steinbeck is compelling. It includes the author's upbringing in
Salinas, and his colorful encounters with the real characters of
Cannery Row in Monterey.
Taelen's research includes personal interviews with close friends
of Steinbeck and Doc Ricketts, resulting in a fascinating portrayal
of this very private and fiercely intelligent man. His audience
learns the intriguing personal stories behind such great novels
as The Grapes of Wrath, Of Mice and Men,
Tortilla Flat, and Cannery Row.
Taelen may also touch upon Steinbeck's unforgettable travels across
America with his French poodle, Charley.
After experiencing Thomas's portrayal of John Steinbeck, one is
indeed reminded why the writer is considered by many to be America's
Greatest Author.
